Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Mammography Technologist to operate mammographic radiographic equipment and perform screening and diagnostic procedures.

The role involves patient positioning, protocol selection, image quality evaluation, and maintaining accurate records in line with regulatory requirements. AAMA or ARRT credentials and BLS are required, with no experience required though 1 year is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.
• Strong understanding of radiographic safety and image techniques.
• Ability to position patients across age groups and operate imaging equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews exam requisitions for pertinent information and notes additional details.
• Positions patient and equipment, selects protocol, and uses required equipment.
• Evaluates images for diagnostic quality and requests additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of exams by labeling and following procedures.
• Provides customer service/support to the patient population.
• Maintains records, reports, and files per federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate.

What you will do

• Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures.
• Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information.
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed.
• Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly.
• Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population.
• Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.

• BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
