Job summary

Plains VC in Oklahoma City seeks a Cell Line Development Scientist to support the design, optimization and creation of mammalian cell lines for biologics. You will perform experiments, analyze data and maintain documentation to enable robust development and transfer across teams.

You will collaborate with downstream, analytical, MSAT, manufacturing and quality groups, translate amino acid sequences to DNA FASTA files for ordering, and mentor junior staff while upholding safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of hands-on bioprocessing/biopharmaceutical development experience.
• 4–8 years of experience with mammalian stable cell line generation.
• CDMO experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with transposon-based expression systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of protein purification and analytical techniques is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammalian cell line development and upstream process development experiments.
• Use DoE for data analysis and design experiments.
• Coordinate all phases of CLD with downstream, analytical, and formulation teams.
• Drive technology transfer with cross-functional teams.
• Generate DNA sequences to FASTA for ordering.
• Prepare buffers, media, solutions per SOPs.
• Operate CLD equipment including electroporation, single cell dispensing, imaging.
• Operate ambr250 microbioreactor system.
• Analyze data and maintain lab records.
• Present findings in meetings and author reports.
• Complete root cause analyses and CAPAs.
• Mentor junior scientists.
• Follow safety, quality, compliance requirements.
