GardaWorld Security Services is hiring a Mall Security Guard in Roanoke, VA. The role emphasizes building meaningful connections with shoppers and coworkers while delivering excellent customer service on all shifts.

Responsibilities include supervising security operations, coordinating staffing and payroll, maintaining logs and post orders, and fostering strong client relationships. Background checks and screenings are required as part of employment.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must pass an extensive screening process.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Proficient in basic phone and computer skills.
• Security, Military or Law Enforcement experience is a plus.
• State license if required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure GardaWorld core values are embedded in daily practices.
• Supervise day-to-day security service and uphold high standards.
• Assist in staffing, payroll, and other reporting.
• Maintain operational logs, records and post orders.
• Build relationships with client and staff; liaise between GardaWorld and client.
• Participate in staff orientation, training, and development.
• Maintain safety culture and incident avoidance goals.
• Review schedules to optimize security operations and reduce costs.
• Respond to emergencies with timely communication and reporting.
• Direct, supervise and support site officers as needed.
• Distribute rewards and recognition; handle corrective action up to termination.
• Manage employees at the site and maintain professional client relations.
• Exercise independent judgment and sound decision making.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

As a Mall Security Guard, there is a high focus on customer service since you will be working with people on all shifts, in a shopping center environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that GardaWorld Security core values are integrated into and throughout all business practices.
• Supervise the day-to-day security service provided to the facility and ensure service is of the highest standards – capable of representing GardaWorld as the premier provider of security services in the industry.
• Assist in the development and implementation of staffing schedules, payroll, and other reports.
• Ensure that operational logs, records and post orders are maintained appropriately.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with client and employees and serve as the liaison between GardaWorld, our client, and our assigned staff.
• Assist in the selection, orientation, training, and continual development of staff assigned to the account.
• Maintain goal of zero safety incidents, while at the same time managing a robust safety culture and a robust safety program that is appropriate to the operating environments.
• Regularly review security officer schedules and staffing levels to identify opportunities for improvement of security operations, decreased risk, and reduced cost where possible.
• Be ready to respond to any operational emergency and insure timely response, timely and efficient communications and accurate reporting.
• Immediate responsibility to direct, supervise, and support site officers.
• Recommend, nominate, and distribute rewards and recognition.
• Responsible for corrective action and discipline of subordinate officers (up to formal warnings) and recommending and participating in other disciplinary decisions up to and including termination.
• Supervise & manage employees at your assigned job site.
• Maintain a healthy, professional relationship with our client at the assigned site.
• Exercise independent judgement and sound decision making in performing all duties.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Be able to provide documentation of High School Diploma or GED
• Be able to ace (and pass) an extensive screening process
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Proficient in basic phone & computer skills
• If you have Security, Military, Law Enforcement experience – even better!
• You have a state license if required
