Job summary

Moberly Area Community College’s MACCLab Makerspace is seeking instructors for non-credit, hourly contracted classes. Instructors will be added to a pool to teach based on enrollment, with most sessions offered once or twice monthly, and some as one-time events.

Industry experience in the subject area is required to qualify for these roles. Assignments include teaching duties, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and developing course materials and labs.

Qualifications

• 3 years industry experience in subject area.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred.
• Teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes assigned by the MACCLab Coordinator.
• Provide effective instruction that encompasses the safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and tips or tricks for equipment use.
• Work with MACCLab Coordinator to develop course materials/handouts, lectures and labs, and update regularly to ensure relevancy, currency, and alignment with course goals and desired outcomes.
• Develop project that can effectively test the students understanding of how to properly and safely operate the equipment and/or software and be completed in the time allotted.
• Provide accurate accounting of students’ skill level and confidence in their ability to safely use the equipment without further direction.
• Be occasionally available for students who desire to test out of the access class and be able to properly assess whether or not they should be granted authorization without taking the class.
