Job summary

The Key School is seeking a full-time long-term substitute to teach Maker Technology and Innovation to students from preschool through Second Grade, from mid-December 2026 to mid-April 2027. The role emphasizes culturally responsive, hands-on learning in an age-appropriate program.

You will collaborate with homeroom teachers, maintain an innovation lab, and participate in reporting and professional development, supporting diverse learners across early childhood and lower elementary.

Qualifications

• Experience in early childhood education and an emphasis on hands-on, project-based learning.
• Familiarity with integrating design and technology into the curriculum.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute weekly Maker Tech design and creation lessons for ages three through eight (Pre-School–Second Grade).
• Plan and execute bi-weekly introductory Coding lessons for First and Second Grade.
• Collaborate with homeroom teachers to develop interdisciplinary design projects.
• Organize and maintain an innovation lab.
• Attend weekly faculty meetings and professional development sessions.
• Collaborate with the Innovation and Engineering Department.
• Participate in Trimester Report writing.
