Job summary

NORY in New York City is seeking a proactive Maker & Operations Assistant for a part-time role. You will support teachers and campers by preparing materials and managing a central inventory to keep operations running smoothly.

The position is in-person in NYC, with 20–25 hours weekly and a $17.00/hour pay rate. Training is provided for those new to warehouse or fabrication work, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience level: no prior warehouse or fabrication experience is necessary; full training provided.
• Mindset: energetic, personable, empathetic, and passionate about supporting education.
• Execution: highly organized and efficient at multitasking with good memory.
• Problem-Solving: proactive and communicates well with others.
• Physical Demands: lift 20+ lbs regularly and stand/bend for extended periods.
• Mobility: willingness to travel within NYC for local drop-offs/pickups.
• Creative Flair (Plus): baseline artistic creativity or maker hobbies are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Materials & Kit Preparation: sort, assemble, pack, and prepare enrichment materials and kits.
• Workspace & Office Organization: keep central inventory workspace organized, safe, and clean.
• Logistics Support: assist with inventory counts and local material shipments or deliveries.
