Job summary

Planned Parenthood Mar Monte (PPMM) is seeking a Major Gifts Officer to manage a high-value donor portfolio across the Peninsula region. This hybrid role involves cultivating and soliciting individual donors and foundation partners capable of substantial gifts, including $10,000–$100,000+ across our 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) programs.

You will lead donor visits, events, and visits, acting as a senior fundraiser and strategic partner with leadership and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Fundraising experience, including success in individual and/or major gifts.
• Strong relationship-building skills with donors, volunteers, and community partners.
• Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking abilities.
• Knowledge of professional fundraising practices and donor engagement strategies.
• Comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Familiarity with fundraising databases and CRM systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift donors and prospects.
• Develop and execute regional fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Build and manage a portfolio of major donors with long-term vision.
• Create individualized engagement and solicitation strategies linking donor values to priorities.
• Represent PPMM to influential donors and community leaders as a senior fundraiser.
• Partner with leadership and volunteers on donor engagement opportunities and solicitations.
• Ensure timely acknowledgment, impact reporting, and recognition for donors.
• Track donor activity and contribute to forecasting and reporting.
• Plan donor meetings and cultivation events with Development Team support.

Hiring Range: $135k-$160k annually

This hybrid role manages a major gifts portfolio of donors and prospects from Daly City and South San Francisco south through San Mateo, Redwood City, and Menlo Park. The Major Gifts Officer identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards individual donors and foundation partners capable of significant giving across the Peninsula. As the lead fundraiser for this market, they will build a visible community presence through regular donor visits, site visits, and events. Candidates must live in the Peninsula area. Strong preference for candidates familiar with the Peninsula donor community.

The Opportunity

As a Major Gifts Officer, you will play a central role in shaping and advancing PPMM's major gift program for both our 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations within your assigned region. You will manage and grow relationships with donors capable of giving $10,000-$100,000+, serving as a strategic partner, storyteller, and steward. This position offers:

What You'll Do

• Lead the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift donors and prospects.


• Develop and execute regional fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals and best practices in moves management.


• Build and manage a portfolio of major donors with care, intention, and long-term vision.


• Create individualized engagement and solicitation strategies that connect donor values to organizational priorities.


• Represent PPMM to influential donors, community leaders, and public audiences as a senior fundraiser.


• Partner with leadership and volunteers on meaningful donor engagement opportunities and solicitations.


• Ensure exceptional stewardship, including timely acknowledgment, impact reporting, and recognition.


• Track donor activity and progress using fundraising software and contribute to thoughtful goal-setting, forecasting, and reporting.


• Plan donor meetings and cultivation events with support from the Development Team.
