Job summary

The New Hampshire Food Bank is seeking a relationship-driven Major Gifts Officer to join our Development Team. You will manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, develop personalized strategies, and collaborate with leadership to grow the major gifts program.

This frontline role focuses on individual donors, with opportunities to engage foundations and corporations. Travel regionally, build authentic connections, secure major gifts, and create tailored updates that show the impact of giving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2–4 years in fundraising or related field; major gifts preferred.
• Proven ability to secure gifts and manage donor relationships.
• Experience with CRM/donor systems; Raiser’s Edge NXT is a plus.
• Willingness to travel regionally and occasional evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Manage portfolio of approx. 125–150 major gift donors and prospects (+$5,000/year).
• Build authentic relationships via in-person visits, calls, virtual meetings, events.
• Develop strategies to cultivate, solicit, steward, retain, and upgrade donors.
• Secure major gifts for annual priorities and campaigns.
• Identify new prospects, including mid-level donors for major gifts.
