Job summary

Rutgers University Foundation is seeking an Associate Director of Development for the Rutgers Democracy Lab in New Brunswick, NJ. You will manage a major gifts portfolio, cultivate donors, and strategically solicit funds above $25,000 to support civic initiatives.

You will collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners to articulate program needs and develop new fundraising strategies, while ensuring reporting accuracy and donor stewardship across campaigns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/or 4+ years in fundraising or related fields.
• Experience fundraising for policy and education preferred.
• Ability to build major gift pipelines and donor portfolios.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects (>$25,000).
• Actively solicit prospects and meet gift goals using various giving vehicles.
• Organize the Director’s time for donor meetings, events, and leadership meetings.
• Develop relationships with faculty and staff within RDL.
• Collaborate with a communications firm to articulate needs and priorities for support.
• Contribute to new fundraising initiatives as RDL grows.
• Ensure compliance with Rutgers University Foundation policies and reporting.
