Job summary

Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges in Livingston, NJ seeks a Director of Development to cultivate major gifts, lead annual campaigns, and steward donors across a multi-branch footprint including Greater Bergen YMCA. The role partners with Executive Directors and volunteers to advance capital campaigns, endowment goals, and annual philanthropic priorities.

The position requires a five-year fundraising track record, donor relations expertise, and proficiency with CRM databases, MS Office, and Canva.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nonprofit administration, business, communications or similar.
• Minimum of five years fundraising with major gifts, annual campaigns or events.
• Proven ability to cultivate relationships with donors, volunteers and community leaders.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively.
• Experience with donor databases and CRM systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage an assigned portfolio of major gift prospects and donors.
• Lead cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship across donor lifecycle stages.
• Prepare gift proposals and personalized donor communications.
• Collaborate with branch leadership to set fundraising priorities.
• Represent YMCA at community events and donor gatherings.
