Job summary

Rutgers Democracy Lab seeks an Associate Director of Development to lead major gifts fundraising, building a strong donor portfolio and guiding strategic development initiatives. The role advances the Lab’s mission through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of funds in partnership with the Rutgers University Foundation.

The ADOD will translate democracy studies into compelling donor cases, cultivate relationships with alumni, institutions, and friends, and help grow a major gift pipeline

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/or 4+ years of professional fundraising experience.
• Experience in policy and education fundraising is preferred.
• Ability to manage donor relationships and deliverable reporting.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a portfolio of major gift donors (>$25,000).
• Solicit, cultivate, solicit and steward prospects to secure gifts.
• Strategically organize time and resources for donor meetings and events.
• Develop collaborative working relationships with faculty and staff.
• Communicate needs and priorities to stakeholders clearly and persuasively.
• Collaborate with Rutgers University Foundation on policies and reporting.
