Job summary

Harvard University is seeking an Associate Director of Major Gifts for the Graduate School of Design. This role focuses on managing a portfolio of prospective donors and securing significant philanthropic support.

The ideal candidate has over 8 years of frontline fundraising experience, excellent communication skills, and is committed to Harvard's educational mission. This hybrid role requires at least one day a week in the Cambridge office.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of frontline fundraising experience, with a history of securing five- and six-figure gifts.
• Proven ability to manage the full donor cycle: identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a ability to present ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

• Manage a dynamic portfolio of approximately 150–250 major gift prospects.
• Develop and implement individualized strategies for each prospect.
• Lead the execution of complex solicitations for major gifts.
