Job summary

Harvard Medical School is seeking a Managing Director of Gift Planning to lead a comprehensive program that secures deferred and blended gifts. You will supervise staff, manage a large prospect portfolio, and collaborate with University partners to advance HMS’s mission.

The role requires deep expertise in planned giving, charitable tax law, and estate planning, with travel and occasional evening commitments as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with planned giving and complex gifts.
• Expert knowledge of gift planning vehicles and estate planning concepts.
• Strong donor engagement and proposal development skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and management of the HMS Gift Planning program.
• Supervise staff and mentor two direct reports.
• Oversee gifts, estates, trusts, and related administration with compliance.
