Job summary

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking a degreed Major Equipment Procurement/Thermal Process Engineer for an eight-month contract in the Waynesboro, GA area. The role requires 7–10 years in related fields, with strong thermodynamics, heat balance, and equipment sizing expertise. PE or Masters are preferred.

Travel is 25%. The engineer will perform thermal analyses on simple and combined cycle plants, write reports, and size major equipment for new or retrofit projects using Thermoflow and Gate

Qualifications

• Accredited Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. PE preferred. Masters preferred.
• 7-10 Years Experience in related field.
• Thermodynamics experience for a minimum of 3 years.
• Experience with simple and combined cycle plants.
• Solid experience with mass and thermal balance.
• Experience writing reports and specifications.
• Experience running heat balance software.
• Experience sizing major rotating as well as heat transfer equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal analysis of simple and combined cycle plants on a daily basis.
• Write technical reports and specifications.
• Run heat balance software.
• Size major equipment for new as well as retrofit projects.
• Utilize proficient Excel skills for data and calculations.
• Utilize Thermoflow, Gate Cycle, or other Heat Balance programs.
• Troubleshoot plant equipment under warranty and provide field support.
• Support Start up of new equipment at plant sites.

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is looking for a degreed Major Equipment Procurement/Thermal Process Engineer to fill an eight-month contract assignment in the Waynesboro, GA area.

This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.

Requirements

• OEM experience preferably with GE, Siemens, Nooter Erickson, or Toshiba.
• Experience with Thermoflow, Gate Cycle, or other Heat Balance programs.
• Plant site experience preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting plant equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
