Brevard County’s Public Works Department in Palm Bay, FL seeks an entry-level maintenance worker to perform basic repairs on county grounds, buildings, roads, parks and facilities. The role involves outdoor, physical labor and adherence to safety. Working schedule is Mon-Fri 7:00 a.m.

$18.52 to $20.37 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. South Area/Palm Bay. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Performs entry-level service work maintaining and making simple repairs to County grounds, buildings, roads, parks, and other facilities.
No formal training or experience is required.
Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must be able to operate light automotive vehicles and less complex Public Works equipment and safely and effectively utilize hand and power-operated equipment used for site construction. Experience in constructing roads, drainage, and sidewalks is preferred. This position involves heavy physical labor performed outdoors with exposure to dirt, noise, fumes, traffic, moving heavy equipment, and extreme weather conditions. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, or any natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, employees will be required to perform.
