Job summary

Brevard County Public Works Department – Roadway and Bridge unit is seeking a permanent full-time Maintenance Worker in Melbourne, FL. The role involves operating and maintaining moderately complex automotive vehicles, performing routine service, and supporting road/drainage infrastructure projects. Work is Monday–Friday 7:00 a.m.

Overview

Public Works Department – Roadway and Bridge unit. Permanent full‑time position. $18.88 to $20.77 hourly. Work in Central Area/Cocoa from Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with possible evenings, weekends and holidays.

Perform experienced service maintenance work with moderately complex automotive vehicles or equipment, and routine automotive service and maintenance.

Qualifications

Special Requirements

Heavy physical work performed outdoors involving construction debris, moving machinery, traffic, noise, dirt, dust, water, and extreme weather. Must be able to lift 75–95 lbs and handle strenuous tasks.
