Zusammenfassung

Missouri Department of Natural Resources in Warsaw, MO, seeks a skilled park maintenance professional to operate and repair water and wastewater systems and perform multi-trade maintenance across park facilities.

The role requires handling a variety of trades, following park policies, and working weekends, nights, and holidays as needed. Training and certifications are provided with a twelve-month timeline.

Qualifikationen

  • Equivalent to four to six years of on-the-job training/experience in building, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, or mechanical trades (Education may be substituted for experience).
  • Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.

Aufgaben

  • Operate, maintain, and repair the park’s water and wastewater systems.
  • Perform semi-skilled work in alteration, maintenance, and repair of state buildings and facilities.
  • Research, estimate, acquire bids and/or purchase materials for projects or repairs.
  • Work across trades (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete, masonry, painting, plastering, mechanical).
  • Routine cleaning of park buildings, restrooms, campsites, and park grounds.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors.
  • Participate in stewardship work including prescribed fire, invasive species control, and trail maintenance.
  • Maintain licenses for vehicles and grounds equipment.
  • Operate and maintain lawn equipment and related machinery.
  • Maintain knowledge of park rules, regulations, procedures, and policies.
  • May oversee a seasonal crew; obtain required certifications within the first year.

Please note: The salary range listed in this job description is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed salary range listed above.

This position will be located at Harry S Truman State Park, 28761 State Park Road West, Warsaw, MO 65355. Shifts are primarily 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (30-minute lunch break). Regular days off will be Saturday and Sunday but may vary with the time of the year to meet the needs of the facility. Must also work varying shifts depending on holiday, emergencies, and special events. This position requires working regular weekends, nights, and holidays.

  • Operate, maintain, and repair the park’s water and wastewater systems.
  • Responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled work in the alteration, maintenance, and repair of state buildings and facilities.
  • Research, estimate, acquire bids and/or purchase materials for specific projects or repairs as needed.
  • Work in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair in settings such as facilities, grounds, and cemeteries.
  • Routine cleaning of park buildings, restrooms, campsites, and park grounds.
  • Collaborate and problem-solve with team members and supervisors.
  • Participate in stewardship work to include prescribed fire, invasive/exotic species control, and trail maintenance.
  • Maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license to operate and maintain licensed vehicles, as well as tractors, mowers, skid steer, and other grounds related equipment.
  • Operate and maintain lawn mowers, tractors, skid loader, trucks, chainsaws, leaf blowers, and similar mechanical equipment.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of park rules, regulations, procedures, and policies.
  • May oversee a seasonal crew engaged in maintenance tasks.
  • Achieve Required Certifications within the first year of employment.
  • This position is required to obtain and maintain appropriate water/wastewater certifications. This includes Drinking Water Distribution Level 1 (DS1) and Wastewater D certifications. If you do not currently possess this license/certification, you will be given twelve months to obtain necessary license/certification. This position is also required to have Missouri State Parks Level 1 Prescribed Fire Training. If you do not currently possess this training then you will be given twelve months to obtain necessary license/certification.
