Summary
This position is located at: Outdoor Recreation - Fort Irwin, California.

Outdoor Recreation (ODR) offers a variety of services for our Fort Irwin Soldiers and Families, including: Equipment Rentals, RV and Mini Storage Rental Spaces, RV Camp Site, 6 hole Pitch N' Putt golf course, Skeet and Trap range, Disc Golf and so much more.

This is an open continuous announcement. All qualified applicants will be forwarded to management on a weekly or as needed basis.

Duties
  • Maintains park picnic and pavilion recreational areas. Performs grass-cutting requirements using riding lawn mowers/ garden tractors (from 18HP to 31HP), push mowers, edgers, chainsaws, blowers, weedeaters, pruners, etc.
  • Performs operational maintenance on park vehicles and equipment. Weeds flowerbeds, prunes shrubs and trees, clear scrub trees and brush, and waters grass, trees, and plants.
  • Performs daily cleaning and policing of recreational facilities and areas within the park. Cleans public latrines, party pavilions, and other facilities. Replaces towels and tissue and empties trash containers.
  • Scrubs sinks, floors, and other fixtures. Picks up trash around the grounds. Performs routine repairs and maintenance on park equipment such as painting, replacing hardware, boards, etc.
  • Assists in setting-up, maintenance, and takedown of all special planned programs/events. Sets up and maintains recreation equipment such as water sprinklers, picnic tables, barbecue grills, park benches, playground equipment, trash containers, etc.
Requirements
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • This position requires a pre-employment physical.
  • Shifts may include working, morning, nights, weekends, holidays and special events.

Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
