Job summary

The Fort Sill Family Morale, Welfare and Recreation custodial team seeks a skilled supervisor with carpentry and painting experience to plan and direct day-to-day operations across multiple facilities.

You will set deadlines, assign work, read blueprints, inspect quality, and arrange training while ensuring safety and adherence to policies.

This federal position requires background checks, E-Verify, and compliance with AR 215-3; candidates must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and drive as needed.

Qualifications

  • Resumes or equivalent documentation with relevant experience in carpentry/painting.
  • Experience in carpentry and painting trades recommended.
  • Ability to read blueprints and sketches.

This position is located at Fort Sill Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation, Custodial.

This job is open to Help The public U.S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. Clarification from the agency United States (U.S.) Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.

Duties

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2. to include a Tier 1 background investigation with childcare checks.
  • Successfully complete all required background checks to include a health screening.
  • Incumbent may also required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • May be required to drive vehicles up to and including a 5-ton truck to move furniture, etc., to various buildings on the installation.
  • Work requires standing, stooping, bending, climbing, crawling, and kneeling for extended periods in uncomfortable positions.
  • May lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds and, occasionally heavier items with assistance.

A Qualified Candidate Must Possess The Following

Must have a working knowledge of wood working techniques and basic shop mathematics. Must be skilled in use and operation of common hand and power tools and measuring devices of the carpentry and painting trades to perform a variety of tasks. Must have knowledge of standard surface preparation and coating methods and techniques. Must have ability to read and follow basic blueprints and sketches.

PCS Costs

Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
