Job summary

Champion Home Builders, Inc. is seeking a Plant Maintenance Worker to install, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, and building systems at our facility. The role requires performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordinating with production teams to minimize downtime.

The ideal candidate will have a certificate or equivalent experience, be detail-oriented, and ensure safe, reliable operation of plant infrastructure in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate or 3–6 months related experience required.
• Ability to inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Dismantle, repair and install mechanical and electrical components.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
• Listens for unusual sounds from machines to diagnose problems.
• Dismantles defective machines and installs parts.
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts.
• Lays out, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.

Job Description

Job Title: Plant Maintenance Worker

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Summary: Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
• Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Schedule maintenance in a manner that will not hinder the production team from meeting their scheduled timelines.
• Co-ordinates repairs in a timely manner to assist the production team in meeting their schedule timelines.
• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
• Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
• Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
• May be required to perform non-maintenance duties on a temporary basis.
