Job summary

Champion Home Builders, Inc. in Lillington, NC is seeking a Plant Maintenance Worker to inspect, maintain, and repair machinery, electrical systems, and building infrastructure at the local plant.

The ideal candidate has experience with 3-phase power, hydraulics, VFD drives, welding and fabrication, and can schedule work without disrupting production. This non-exempt role offers benefits including 401k, vacation, holidays, and health coverage.

Qualifications

• Experience with 3-phase power, hydraulics, VFD drives, fabrication, welding, mechanical work, and installing/repairing machinery and equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, transformers, wiring, and piping is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctions and coordinate repairs with the maintenance team.

• Schedule maintenance without hindering production timelines.
• Assist with repairs to electrical apparatus and pipe systems.

Summary

Experience with 3-phase power, hydraulics, VFD drives, fabrication, welding, mechanical, installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.


• Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines.


• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.


• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.


• Schedule maintenance in a manner that will not hinder the production team from meeting their scheduled timelines.


• Coordinates repairs in a timely manner to assist the production team in meeting their scheduled timelines.


• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.


• Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.


• Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.


• May be required to perform non-maintenance duties on a temporary basis.

Education And/or Experience

One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
