Job summary

Services for the UnderServed (S:US) seeks a Maintenance Worker for its family shelter in Brooklyn, NY. The role covers interior and exterior upkeep, basic repairs, and safety system maintenance to ensure a safe environment for residents.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of building maintenance experience, and the ability to work with a culturally diverse population. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carry out minor repairs and building maintenance across the facility.
• Paint, plaster, repair furniture, and maintain safety systems (smoke detectors, fire extinguishers).
• Perform exterior snow/ice removal and grounds upkeep (sidewalks, mowing, landscaping).
• Rodent control and other exterior building maintenance tasks.

Position Overview

S:US is seeking a Maintenance Worker for their families with children shelter in Brooklyn.

This position is located at Dumont Avenue Brooklyn, NY, 11207.

Salary

USD $16.50/Hr.

USD $18.50/Hr.

SCOPE OF ROLE

Carry out minor repairs and building maintenance throughout assigned areas of the facility. This includes but is not limited to painting, plastering, repairing furniture, maintaining smoke detectors, and fire extinguishers. Responsible for exterior snow and ice removal as well as upkeep of the grounds. This includes but is not limited to sidewalk maintenance, mowing grass, trimming shrubbery, maintaining landscaping, rodent removal, and all other aspects of the building exterior.
