Job summary

ServingSchools is seeking a Maintenance Technician at Limestone, ME to support student facilities with interior and exterior maintenance, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and carpentry tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma and several years of building trades experience; work hours are Monday–Friday 7 AM to 4 PM with an on-call rotation, and the wage is $21.62 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years’ experience in electrical, heating, refrigeration, mechanical and carpentry work.
• Certificate of completion from building trades training or apprenticeship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs interior and exterior center janitorial, building maintenance and grounds keeping duties per work orders.

Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician

performs duties in various highly skilled trade areas

Duties/Responsibilities

• Performs interior and exterior center janitorial, building maintenance and ground keeping assignments according to work orders.
• Performs necessary skilled work in one or more areas of plumbing, heating, carpentry and other skill trade areas as needed.
• Performs carpentry work in repairing or replacing doors, windows, walls, flooring, roofing, painting and any other work pertaining to wood structures.
• Performs plumbing, heating, and air-conditioning work in repairing or replacing furnaces, duct work, air conditioners, piping instrument controls, wash basins, toilet facilities and any other work pertaining to heating, air-conditioning, and plumbing facilities.
• Performs electrical work in repairing and replacing fluorescent fixtures, control switches, disconnecting wiring and any other work pertaining to electrical facilities.
• Uses precision hand tools and power tools.
• May transport students by bus and automobile.
• May drive trucks and other vehicles including PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicles)
• Directs the work activities of general maintenance personnel.
• Maintains confidentiality but reports significant events or situations immediately through approved channels to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff, and to ensure that required reporting occurs, and that students receive emergency services as needed.
• Follows all required Safety Protocols, including the proper use of PPE
• Facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance to students in the event of injury, illness, or emotional trauma.
• Attends required staff training sessions.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum:

High school graduate or equivalent. Three years’ experience in the respective fields of electrical, heating, refrigeration, mechanical and carpentry work.

Preferred:

Certificate of completion from building trades training program or apprenticeship program. Extensive experience in the building trades.

Knowledge:

Must possess a valid State driver’s license. Ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license if required. Ability to operate power and hand tools. Sound working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, building maintenance & construction fields. Ability to read and interpret schematics. Ability to handle multiple tasks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.62 per hour
