Anchor Care and Rehabilitation Center in Hazlet, New Jersey is seeking a dependable Maintenance Worker to join our team. This role helps maintain a safe, clean, and well-kept environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

The Maintenance Worker will work closely with the Maintenance Director and assist in maintaining the facility’s building, grounds, and equipment. On-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• Nursing home experience preferred, but not required.
• On-the-job training provided.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and accept constructive feedback.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with and follow direction from the Maintenance Director.
• Maintain the building and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Perform basic facility maintenance and repairs as assigned.
• Properly care for and maintain tools and equipment.
• Complete minor repairs on handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, Geri-chairs, electrical equipment, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, HVAC systems (including filter changes).
• Assist with carrying, lifting, and stocking supplies.
• Assume supervisor responsibilities in the absence of the Maintenance Director.
• Ensure residents and families receive high-quality service in a caring and compassionate environment.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday–Friday 9am -5pm every other weekend coverage

Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Position Summary

Anchor Care and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dependable and motivated Maintenance Worker to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. The Maintenance Worker will work closely with the Maintenance Director and assist in maintaining the facility’s building, grounds, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with and follow direction from the Maintenance Director
• Maintain the building and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition
• Perform basic facility maintenance and repairs as assigned
• Properly care for and maintain tools and equipment
• Complete minor repairs on:
• Handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings
• Beds, wheelchairs, and Geri-chairs
• Electrical equipment, generators, emergency lighting
• Fire alarms, sprinklers, and extinguishers
• HVAC systems (including filter changes)
• Assist with carrying, lifting, and stocking supplies
• Assume supervisor responsibilities in the absence of the Maintenance Director
• Ensure residents and families receive high-quality service in a caring and compassionate environment
