Job summary

Fond du Lac Housing is seeking an on-site Maintenance Technician to address plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs in Fond du Lac Housing units. The role includes painting, drywall work, appliance maintenance, and preventative upkeep.

The candidate will perform grounds tasks, assist with unit turnovers, and respond to emergencies, with on-call shifts and occasional travel required. Valid Class D license and strong customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• Level 3 – Valid U.S. Class D Driver’s License required and must be insurable under Fond du Lac’s insurance requirements.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC and painting is required.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools is required.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance for equipment and systems is desired.
• On-call availability is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently and establish priorities.

Responsibilities

• Addresses plumbing issues such as repair of faucets and pipes, water tanks, toilets, clogged drains.
• Trouble-shoots mechanical and electrical problems and performs minor electrical repairs.
• Repairs or replaces drywall and painting as needed.
• Replaces locks, doors, filters, and addresses minor window repairs.
• Repairs flooring, cabinets, and cupboards.
• Performs minor appliance repairs and installations.
• Maintains grounds—mows, trims, waters, and cleans areas; handles snow removal in winter.
• Prepares vacant units for occupancy and completes maintenance requests promptly.
• Responds to emergencies and maintains supplies/equipment for properties.
• Travel is required.

Does minor repair of electrical outlets, switches etc. Reports malfunctioning or dangerous equipment.Paints, repairs, or replaces drywall when needed. Replaces locks, doors and filters and addresses minor window repairs. Repairs flooring, cabinets, and cupboards.Performs minor household appliance repairs; replaces/installs appliances.Mows grass, pulls weeds, trims, prunes trees and shrubs. Waters lawn and plants when required, sweeps, rakes, and replaces light bulbs.Plows snow out of driveways, shovels snow off walkways, applies salt/ice melt on icy surfaces.Prepares vacant units for occupancy.
