Job summary

Anchorage School District is seeking a Mechanical/Welding Specialist to maintain mechanical equipment and welding within ASD facilities. The 4/10 schedule may shift per contract language, with weekends off. A high school diploma and at least four years in mechanical systems, including sheet metal and machine shop, are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of four years in mechanical systems such as sheet metal, welding, and machine shop.
• Must obtain Alaska Class B commercial driver's license within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interpret plans, prints, specifications, and procedures.
• Maintain/repair mechanical equipment and welding systems.
• Use wood/metal shop equipment and related machinery.
• Work safely at heights above 20 feet.
• Order materials and manage inventory.
• Collaborate with maintenance team and follow safety procedures.
