Qualifications

• Two (2) years' experience in structural welding and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Welders must pass structural weld test upon offer; welding tests include Vertical and Overhead Tests (Dual Shield and Stick, 80.18 Rod).
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Responsibilities

• Weld metal components for fabrication or repair according to layout, blueprints or work orders using a variety of arc and gas welding equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering prints and work orders; prepare steel shapes for welding.
• Operate welding equipment, electrodes, fluxes, shielding gases and welding processes; ensure clean surfaces and proper fit-up.
• Work with minimal supervision, follow safety procedures, and climb ladders as needed.
