Job summary

Bender Companies is seeking a hands-on Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our Woodridge community. You will tackle daily maintenance tasks, respond to service requests, and collaborate with the team to maintain a safe, attractive living environment for residents.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in apartment maintenance, with skills in plumbing, electrical, HVAC troubleshooting, and appliance care. You will work on-site, with a schedule that includes weekends and on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience in apartment living environments.
• Strong communication when interacting with residents, vendors, and team members.
• Familiar with basic repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC troubleshooting and appliance maintenance.
• Ability to work independently, follow directions, and manage priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine property inspections and proactively address maintenance issues.
• Complete resident service requests and work orders promptly and professionally.
• Maintain property grounds by removing debris to keep common areas clean.
• Assist in unit turnovers and make-readies, including painting and repairs.
• Support preventative maintenance to extend life of systems and equipment.
• Ensure all work follows safety standards and building codes.

What We are Looking For:

Bender Companies is seeking a skilled and dedicated Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team at our community in Woodridge. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional who takes pride in their work and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

To succeed in this role, you should possess strong troubleshooting abilities, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues. The right candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and able to follow direction while also working independently when needed.

Job Type:

Full-time

Pay:

$24-$27 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 AM to 4:30 PM (however hours may vary)
• Monday to Friday
• On call
• Weekends as needed

What you will be doing:

As a Maintenance Technician at Bender Companies, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations and overall upkeep of the community. You will be responsible for ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard.

In this role, you will collaborate with the maintenance team to address service requests, perform preventative maintenance, and contribute to creating a well-maintained, comfortable living environment for our residents.

Core responsibilities include:

• Perform routine property inspections to identify and address maintenance issues proactively
• Complete resident service requests and work orders promptly and professionally
• Maintain property grounds by removing trash, leaves, branches, and other debris to keep common areas clean and attractive
• Support the completion of unit turnovers and make-readies, including painting, repairs, and cleaning as needed
• Assist in preventative maintenance efforts to extend the life of property systems and equipment
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes, and company policies
• Deliver notices and communications to residents as directed by management
• Participate in an on-call schedule for after-hours maintenance emergencies
• Perform additional duties as assigned

This position will require you to work on-site at the property in Woodridge.
