Job summary

Bender Companies is seeking an Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Minneapolis community. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

The role requires troubleshooting, independent work, and strong communication with residents and vendors. On-site schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with pay of $26–$28 per hour and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in apartment maintenance, facilities, or residential construction.
• Strong communication skills with residents, vendors, and team members.
• Familiarity with basic repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC troubleshooting, and appliance maintenance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Reliable transportation to get to work.
• Ability to work independently, follow directions, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine property inspections and address maintenance issues proactively.
• Complete resident service requests and work orders promptly and professionally.
• Maintain property grounds and keep common areas clean and attractive.
• Support unit turnovers and make-readies, including painting, repairs, and cleaning.
• Contribute to preventative maintenance to extend life of property systems.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and codes.
• Deliver notices and communications to residents as directed by management.
• Participate in on-call schedule for after-hours emergencies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26-$28 per hour

Schedule :

• 8 AM to 4:30 PM (however hours may vary)
• Monday to Friday

What you will be doing:

As a Maintenance Technician at Bender Companies, you will play a vital role in the day‑to‑day operations and overall upkeep of the community. You will be responsible for ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard.

In this role, you will collaborate with the maintenance team to address service requests, perform preventative maintenance, and contribute to creating a well‑maintained, comfortable living environment for our residents.

Core responsibilities include:

• Perform routine property inspections to identify and address maintenance issues proactively
• Complete resident service requests and work orders promptly and professionally
• Maintain property grounds by removing trash, leaves, branches, and other debris to keep common areas clean and attractive
• Support the completion of unit turnovers and make‑readies, including painting, repairs, and cleaning as needed
• Assist in preventative maintenance efforts to extend the life of property systems and equipment
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes, and company policies
• Deliver notices and communications to residents as directed by management
• Participate in an on‑call schedule for after‑hours maintenance emergencies
• Perform additional duties as assigned

This position will require you to work on‑site at the property in Minneapolis.
