Job summary

Mercy Housing is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our on-site team in Tucson. The role focuses on completing preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and apartment turnovers while maintaining a clean, hazard-free environment and delivering strong customer service.

The position requires basic building maintenance knowledge and a valid driver’s license. The team collaborates to ensure safety, quality workmanship, and a positive resident experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of basic building maintenance required via training or experience.
• Valid driver's license and insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Completes work orders in a timely and accurate manner; cleans up after completion.
• Performs repairs on the property including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical.
• Cleans apartments during turnover process and assists as needed.

The successful Maintenance Technician will complete preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and apartment turnovers. As part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, customer service, and a hazard‑free environment.

This is an on‑site position.

Pay

$21-22/hour, depending on experience

Duties

• Completes work orders in a timely and accurate manner. Cleans up after work is complete.
• Performs repairs on the property, including painting, basic carpentry or wall repair, plumbing, and electrical.
• Cleans apartments during turnover process, as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of basic building maintenance required either through training or experience.
• Legally operate a motor vehicle (valid driver's license and insurance).

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year in skilled maintenance work.
• Technical training in one or more building trades preferred.

Knowledge And Skills

• Take direction from the supervisor.
• Read, write, do basic math, and follow instructions.
• Flexible to change work plans.
• Maintain a professional personal appearance.
• Legally operate a motor vehicle (valid driver's license and insurance).
