Job summary

Mercy Housing is seeking a Maintenance Technician in California to perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and apartment turnovers. You’ll contribute to a clean, hazard-free environment and high levels of customer service on-site.

The role focuses on painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and timely work-order completion. HVAC or advanced trades are not required, but helpful; valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic building maintenance required through training or experience.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math; follow instructions.
• Customer-service oriented with a professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Completes work orders in a timely and accurate manner; cleans up after work is complete.
• Repairs on the property including painting, basic carpentry or wall repair, plumbing, and electrical.
• Cleans apartments during turnover process, as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.

The successful Maintenance Technician will complete preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and apartment turnovers. As part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, customer service, and a hazard‑free environment.

This is an on-site position.

Pay

$20.00 - $25.00/hour, dependent on experience.

Duties

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of basic building maintenance required either through training or experience.
• Legally operate a motor vehicle (valid driver's license and insurance).

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year in skilled maintenance work.
• Technical training in one or more building trades preferred.
