Job summary

Mercy Housing is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and turnover tasks on-site at our Chicago properties. You will sustain a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and customer service in a hazard-free environment while supporting residents and team members.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of basic building maintenance.
• Legally operate a motor vehicle (valid driver's license and insurance).

Responsibilities

• Completes work orders in a timely and accurate manner. Cleans up after work is complete.
• Performs repairs on the property, including painting, basic carpentry or wall repair, plumbing, and electrical.
• Cleans apartments during turnover process, as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.

The successful Maintenance Technician will complete preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and apartment turnovers. As part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, customer service, and a hazard-free environment.

This is an on-site position.

Pay: $20-23/hour, dependent on experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year in skilled maintenance work.
• Technical training in one or more building trades preferred.
