Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a facilities maintenance specialist to service and repair a variety of plant equipment and systems. The role involves reading complex drawings, performing preventative maintenance, and coordinating with shift teams to minimize downtime.

The position offers weekend shifts from 6:00am to 6:00pm with a compensation package including comprehensive benefits, overtime opportunities, and tuition assistance. Relocation is not offered for this role.

Qualifications

• Advanced shop mathematics required.
• Ability to read and interpret complicated drawings, specs, charts and tables.
• Knowledge of mechanical methods and procedures.
• Must plan and perform with limited direction.
• Must be able to lift 25–35 pounds for a portion of the workday.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facilities, equipment, systems and machines across multiple trades (heating, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
• Perform maintenance, repair, installation, fabrication, adjustment and teardown as needed.
• Follow complex drawings and manuals to guide work.
• Inspect safety and boiler equipment; log hazards.
• Train others on methods, safety and equipment use.
