Caterpillar Inc. in Sanford, NC is seeking a Maintenance Tech III to perform preventive and reparative maintenance on production equipment, supported by CMMS systems, and to ensure safety and compliance on the shop floor.

Performance of preventive maintenance on process/production equipment as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Respond to and provide service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tag out procedures and wearing PPE as required.
Prepare/complete assigned tasks in conformance with applicable procedure requirements provided by the supervisor.
Perform reparative maintenance on production equipment.
Work independently, without supervision.
May train other technicians as needed.
This is a unique role that will require work hours that vary from a typical schedule. There will be times when the successful candidate will be required to support activities and installations during weekends, holidays, and plant shutdowns.
Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 35 pounds for intervals of 15-30 minutes.
Work at heights of up to 30 feet from the floor, work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures, and walk, squat and bend over for intervals of 15-30 minutes, with or without reasonable accommodation.
5 years minimum of cumulative experience performing industrial maintenance, corrective, preventive, and testing in a manufacturing facility.
Relevant industry certification.
Prior experience within a Caterpillar Facility.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and equipment diagrams.
Safe and effective use of common maintenance tools (carpentry, plumbing, assembly, etc.).
Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot, repair, and installation of manufacturing machine components.
Experience utilizing CMMS.
Experience maintaining and troubleshooting PLCs.
Extensive knowledge troubleshooting and repairing hoists/cranes.
Ability to diagnose and repair electrical control circuits, server motors, pneumatics and hydraulics.
