City of Harker Heights is seeking a skilled maintenance worker to perform construction, repair, and maintenance on sewer and water lines. You will operate equipment, read meters, and perform extensive manual labor under supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, Texas CDL-B within 6 months, and water distribution certifications (D within 1 year, C within 3 years). Experience with construction tools is preferred, and a strong reliability is essential.

Qualificações

• Must be able to obtain Texas CDL-B within six months from date of hire.
• Must be able to obtain a Texas D Water Distribution Certification within one year from date of hire.
• Must be able to obtain a Texas C Water Distribution Certification within three years from date of hire.
• Minimum six months experience in construction work requiring use of equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Operates a jackhammer, lawn mower, power saw, tapping machine, chain saw, hand tools, light trucks, and assists vactor truck.
• Performs preventative maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Performs minor painting, plumbing, and maintenance.
• Cleans and stocks the truck.
• Loads and unloads materials; performs yard clean-up and all other duties assigned.
• Performs after-hours standby duty and rotation of duty phone.
• Assists in installing and maintaining water and sewer lines.
• Assists other departments as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Attendance and timeliness are essential functions of the job.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Works under the general supervision of the Water Field Supervisor or the on-site supervisor.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

None.

• Operates a jackhammer, lawn mower, power saw, tapping machine, chain saw, hand tools, light trucks, and assists vactor truck.
• Performs preventative maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Performs minor painting, plumbing, and maintenance.
• Cleans and stocks the truck.

Must be able to obtain a Texas "D" Water Distribution and Texas Collections I Certification within one (1) year from date of hire and must be able to obtain a Texas "C" Water Distribution Certification within three (3) years from date of hire.

A minimum of six (6) months experience in performing construction work requiring the use of equipment similar to or the same as assigned to this position.
