Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for The Historic Cavalier Hotel and Beach Club in Virginia Beach. Maintain building systems and the building envelope to ensure guest and associate safety, while complying with engineering standards and codes.

Energy efficiency improvements are a key focus. You will perform preventative maintenance, inspect electrical and plumbing systems, handle repairs, service the pool, refurbish furniture, and assist with major equipment maintenance

Qualifications

• Vocational schooling, military training, certification and/or experience in building related trades required in 1 or more of the following areas: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Carpentry.
• Hotel experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative maintenance and complete report work orders to maintain the hotel and keep the product quality standard.
• Perform preventative maintenance on a scheduled basis and assist in checking electrical systems and minor repairs.
• Assist in major repairs of hotel equipment including boilers, HVAC, pool equipment, and plumbing.
• Service the pool and maintain exterior upkeep and curb appeal.
• Refurbish furniture and fixtures and move items as needed.
• Respond courteously to guest questions and requests to ensure satisfaction.
