Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts is seeking a facilities maintenance candidate to uphold safety and comfort across the Cavalier Hotel and Beach Club in Virginia Beach. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on building systems, service pools, and ensure adherence to code and SOP standards.

Ideal candidates have vocational training in building trades and prior hotel maintenance experience, with strong communication skills and physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry experience in building trades.
• Hotel or hospitality maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 25–50 lbs with or without accommodations.
• Ability to receive instructions and communicate progress clearly.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative maintenance and complete work orders to maintain hotel standards.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Inspect and repair hotel equipment including appliances, boilers and pool equipment.
• Service the hotel's pool and maintain chemical levels and filters.
• Maintain exterior areas and refurbish furniture and fixtures as needed.
• Move furniture and respond courteously to guest questions and requests.
