Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Maintenance Technician at the Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront Resort, part of the Cavalier Resort campus. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and guest-ready upkeep in a premier oceanfront property.

The position requires vocational training in building trades, plus ability to lift 25–50 lbs and communicate effectively with staff and guests. Competitive benefits and scheduling support are provided.

Qualifications

• HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing or Carpentry knowledge required.
• Hotel maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 25–50 lbs with or without accommodation.
• Able to receive instructions and communicate progress of work assignments.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative maintenance and complete work orders (ceiling tiles, lighting, etc.) to maintain the hotel and quality.
• Perform preventative maintenance on a schedule (e.g., room care).
• Check electrical systems and make minor repairs as needed.
• Assist in major repairs of hotel equipment including HVAC, plumbing, and fixtures.
• Service the hotel's pool and maintain chemicals and logs.
• Maintain building exterior and curb appeal (snow removal, lawn care, painting, gardening).
• Refurbish furniture and fixtures in guest rooms as needed.
• Move furniture and fixtures throughout the building.
• Respond courteously to guest questions and requests to ensure satisfaction.
