Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts seeks a skilledmaintenance engineer to maintain building systems at The Historic Cavalier Hotel and Beach Club, Autograph Collection, in Virginia Beach. You will perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs to keep the property in top condition.

Responsibilities include HVAC, electrical, plumbing work, pool maintenance, and responding to guest questions. Competitive compensation, benefits, 401(k) with match, and DailyPay are available.

Qualifications

• Vocational schooling, military training, certification and/or experience in building related trades required in 1 or more of the following areas: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Carpentry.
• Hotel experience preferred.
• Climbing, reading, standing, walking, and routinely lifting 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to receive instructions and communicate progress of work assignments.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all building related systems and the building envelope for guest safety.
• Ensure compliance with engineering assumptions/culture, SOPs, and codes.
• Maintain building energy efficiency and seek energy savings.
• Perform preventative maintenance and manage work orders.
• Inspect electrical systems and make minor repairs.
• Assist with major repairs of hotel equipment.
• Service the hotel's pool and record logs.
• Maintain exterior curb appeal and furniture refurbishment.
• Move furniture and fixtures as needed.
• Respond courteously to guest questions and requests.
• Comply with attendance rules and work regularly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
