Job summary

Safeway in Bellevue, WA is hiring a Maintenance Engineer for a swing shift (1pm–9:30pm) in a full-time union position with Local 302. The role includes preventive maintenance, repairs, and project work in a production and warehouse environment. Benefits cover health/dental/vision, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Responsibilities include TPM/RCM, detailed work orders, and compliance with GMPs and safety standards while maintaining a world-class manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient with maintenance-related computer systems and PM procedures.
• Basic PLC controls knowledge is desirable.
• Strong electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and refrigeration understanding (ammonia preferred).
• Welding experience with stainless/sanitary equipment is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow SOPs; comply with WA licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform all preventive maintenance work orders and scheduled repairs.
• Oversee TPM and RCM initiatives for equipment reliability.
• Complete documentation and reports for maintenance activities.
• Perform emergency repairs and participate in continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with GMPs, safety policies, and SOPs.
• Utilize Safeway computer applications for data entry and transactions.
