Maintenance Technician Stationary Engineer (Relief/Night)

Job Details

Maintains and operates stationary steam boilers, pumps, and related equipment such as water softeners, air compressors, water treatment systems, piping, chillers, tower, and auxiliary systems. Performs daily chemical water treatment of the boilers to ensure proper operation. Enforces all safety rules and regulations to keep the boiler house safe. Keeps the boiler house and surrounding area clean and up to Jefferson's standards. Occasionally performs general mechanical and minor electrical/HVAC work to support the Facilities department and building needs.

Responsibilities

• Interacts professionally with co-workers, visitors, and staff, embodying Jefferson's values.
• Operates and maintains boilers, chiller, and auxiliary systems by reading meters and gauges, taking appropriate actions for safe operation, and performing maintenance tasks such as valve repacking, piping changes, and lubrication.
• Starts, stops, adjusts, and regulates equipment to ensure efficiency and continuous service.
• Cleans boilers and related equipment to meet safety and regulatory standards.
• Performs daily inspections for leaks or defects in pipelines and equipment.
• Maintains records of readings to monitor consumption and system performance.
• Consults with Lead/Chief Stationary Engineers regarding activities and issues.
• Performs additional maintenance tasks as directed by supervisors.
