Job summary

SSC Services for Education in Houston, TX is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to support facility engineering and maintenance tasks, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing and carpentry. The role may involve leading teammates, training others, and coordinating repairs to ensure safe, functional learning environments.

Qualified candidates will have four years of skilled trade schooling and five years of institutional maintenance experience, plus a Journeyman license.

Qualifications

• Four years of skilled trade schooling or maintenance training required.
• Five years’ experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting.
• Two years’ experience as a licensed Journeyman in the specialized trade.

Responsibilities

• Assists in making decisions on repairs; reports major problems to supervisor.
• Constructs, installs, maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical systems and related facilities.
• Cleans, lubricates, services, repairs or diagnoses malfunction of HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems.
