Job summary

Reflections Retirement Community in Crystal Lake, IL is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support a safe, comfortable living environment for residents. You will work under the Maintenance Director to sustain safety programs and perform routine upkeep of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and building systems.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and experience with HVAC or electrical work, plus strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with HVAC systems and/or electrical preferred.
  • Experience in senior living desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Community safety program and maintain a secure resident home and working environment.
  • Sustain a preventative maintenance program for HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems.
  • Complete maintenance requests, both scheduled and emergency, quickly and efficiently.
  • Repair, replace, or install minor equipment under Executive Director clearance.
  • Maintain water heaters, furnaces, and kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain community plumbing systems and exterior maintenance.
  • Perform fire and disaster drill activities with residents and team members.
  • Engage with residents in a compassionate and respectful manner reflecting the values of love, compassion, and dignity.
