Job summary

Related Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support residential properties across the portfolio. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repairs across offices and units.

You will join a hands-on team responsible for property upkeep, safety, and tenant comfort, with opportunities for growth and competitive benefits. A valid driver's license and EPA/CFC certification are required for eligibility.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on apartment maintenance experience (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to lift and work with heavy equipment; valid driver’s license and good driving record; auto insurance required.
  • EPA or CFC certification is required/preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares or assists in office maintenance such as painting, carpet cleaning, general repairs, and housekeeping.
  • Conducts hands-on maintenance of the property including inspections, repairs, and general maintenance of offices and exterior/interior areas.
  • Installs and repairs electrical systems, equipment, and components of machinery and equipment.
  • Keeps preventative maintenance logs and records findings.
  • Provides on-call emergency maintenance as required.
  • Works with maintenance staff to keep grounds clean and free of trash and debris.
  • Monitors mechanical equipment (water heaters, HVAC) and performs routine upkeep.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning components (transformers, motors, lighting) and replaces faulty parts.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components and positions sensing devices.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepares or assists in preparing maintenance of office in regards to painting, carpet cleaning, general repairs, housekeeping, etc.
  • Responsible for the hands‑on maintenance of the property, including overall inspection, repair, and general maintenance of offices and other interior/exterior areas.
  • Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Performs various preventative maintenance functions and records findings in maintenance log.
  • Performs on‑call emergency service as required.
  • Works along with general maintenance staff in maintaining grounds and keeping them free of trash and debris.
  • Monitors the maintenance and keep‑up of all mechanical equipment on the community, including, but not limited to, water heaters, HVAC units, etc.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • A minimum of two (2) years hands‑on apartments maintenance experience in areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • The ability to lift and work heavy equipment. Valid driver’s license and good driving record along with auto insurance required.
  • An EPA or CFC certification.
