Job summary

Related Affordable is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its 96-unit senio/elderly affordable housing community, James Crawford Apartments, in Monticello, NY. You will perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks to keep buildings safe, functional, and inviting, while delivering excellent resident service with the team.

You will participate in on-call rotation, assist residents, and contribute to a positive community environment with ongoing training and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in general maintenance or related field.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
• Affordable housing experience is a plus.
• Must be able to participate in the emergency on-call rotation as needed.
• Demonstrates accountability and reliability with proactive problem-solving.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Personal standards of appearance compatible with the Company’s standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete service requests in a timely manner and interact with residents to ensure their needs are met.
• Prepare vacant units to occupancy standards within established time frames
• Inspect property mechanical systems and grounds, addressing safety issues immediately with management.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
• Perform cleaning and upkeep of common areas and grounds.
• Assist in emergency repairs as directed by supervisors and rotate on-call for emergency maintenance.
• Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and report any shortages.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance activities in partnership with the supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE

• $21.00 - $23.00 / hourly
• Annual Performance Bonus
• This position is Non-Exempt, meaning eligible for overtime pay

This range is provided as a general guideline and reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary depending on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, geographical location, and the specific responsibilities of the role. In addition to salary, this position may be eligible for performance bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Final compensation offers will be determined following a thorough assessment of the candidate’s background and the requirements of the position
