Burlington Capital Properties is a nationally recognized property management company managing over 10,000 units nationwide. We are reviewing applications for a Maintenance Technician position at our Oakland Village Apartments in Richmond, Virginia. We value providing a quality living experience to our residents and seek individuals skilled in maintenance, repairs, and customer service.

This is a full-time, on-site position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. An on-call rotation for emergency maintenance is required.

Essential Job Functions

1. Perform maintenance and repairs on apartments, common areas, buildings, and grounds according to established procedures.
2. Handle standard apartment maintenance tasks such as painting, carpet cleaning, and appliance repairs.
3. Troubleshoot and assist in maintenance related to plumbing, HVAC, electrical, roofing, and carpentry.
4. Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding service requests and unit readiness.
5. Assist with other duties as assigned by management.
6. Manage expenses to meet budget guidelines.
7. Provide excellent customer service at all times.
8. Participate in resident events and promotions as required.
9. Follow safety and liability guidelines.
10. Be 'on call' for emergency maintenance after hours as directed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Knowledge of maintenance needs such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
2. HVAC certification is required.
3. Trade school or associate’s degree in a related field is a plus.
4. High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
5. Ability to follow directives with minimal supervision.
6. Effective communication skills in English.
7. Ability to interact positively with residents, staff, vendors, and the public.
8. Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
9. Physical ability to bend, stoop, sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, and lift up to 75 pounds.
10. Flexible schedule to meet goals and respond to emergencies.
