Job Title: Field Service Technician

Location: Richmond, VA

Technical Diagnostic Services (TDS), a TechPro Power Group company, based in Fort Worth, TX, has been delivering industry-leading service solutions for over 25 years. TDS provides mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control construction, testing, start-up, and commissioning services to various industrial markets, including Power Generation, Oil & Gas/Petrochemical, and Heavy Process.

We are a dynamic and rapidly growing company seeking skilled Electrical Field Service Technicians to support a large Data Center project in the greater Richmond, Virginia area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Acceptance Testing for electrical equipment within Data Center Facilities.
  • Safely operate hand and power tools, metering & testing equipment, and precision instruments.
  • Collaborate with team members & clients to complete projects on time.
  • Follow safety protocols and adhere to regulations.
  • Keep accurate records of work and materials used.
Qualifications
  • Expertise in switchgear maintenance, troubleshooting, and breaker installation.
  • Strong electrical skills and understanding of power systems.
  • Knowledge of LDL, L2, L3 inspections and testing procedures.
  • Proficiency in secondary injection testing and wiring installations.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with testing tools (multimeters, megohmmeters, etc.).
  • Good communication skills for technical support and customer interaction.
  • Problem-solving abilities for electrical issues.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Experience with reporting and documentation.
  • Willingness to travel within the U.S.
  • Commitment to safety standards.
Required Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years in switchgear installation, testing, and maintenance, preferably in industrial, utility, or data center environments.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards (OSHA, NFPA 70E).
Project Details
  • Project: Data Center Site
  • Location: Richmond, VA
  • Per Diem: Yes, $175/day
  • Mob/Demob: Yes, $1000 each way
  • Schedule: Full-time, 5-10s or 6-10s shifts
  • Pay Rate: Based on expertise
  • Overtime: Possible
  • Start Date: Immediate to mid-May 2025

Physical Requirements
