Job summary

RADCO is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Riverdale property. You will perform routine and on-call maintenance, including HVAC troubleshooting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repairs to ensure a safe, well-kept community.

The role requires 1–3 years of maintenance experience (multi-family preferred), relevant HVAC/EPA certifications, and a valid driver’s license. A strong work ethic and teamwork are essential to support RADCO’s standards and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in multi-family.
  • HVAC/EPA Type I & II or Universal refrigerant recycling certifications required.
  • CPO certification is preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, appliance repairs, roofing, and other general maintenance tasks.
  • Strong time management, prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with pride in quality of work; self-motivated to complete tasks.
  • Availability for nights, holidays and weekends; on-call as scheduled.
  • Knowledge of Federal/State/Local Fair Housing laws, OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license; company vehicle or mileage reimbursement may be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain property to ensure safety and cleanliness; address safety concerns.
  • Schedule and perform routine preventive maintenance per supervisor's direction.
  • Diagnose and perform minor repairs, HVAC troubleshooting and pool maintenance if applicable.
  • Move appliances/equipment and assist with removal of abandoned items.
  • Complete service requests within 24 hours or as parts/labor allow.
  • Respond to on-call emergencies; on-call bonuses apply.
  • Communicate clearly with residents, prospects and staff.
  • Uphold RADCO values of care, respect and professionalism.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in multi-family
  • HVAC/EPA certifications Type I and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling is required
  • CPO certification is preferred
  • Possess proven knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, appliance repairs, roofing repairs, and other general maintenance skills
  • Possess strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented and exhibits pride in quality of work
  • Takes initiative and self-motivated to complete tasks at hand
  • Must be available to work nights, holidays, and weekends, as scheduled for on-call service requests
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Local Fair Housing laws, OSHA, and EPA regulations
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Team members may be required to use their personal vehicle for business-related purposes, including obtaining parts, supplies, equipment, or responding to operational needs when a company vehicle or golf cart is unavailable. Mileage reimbursement will be provided in accordance with company policy.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the property is always well kept and maintained and immediately address any safety concerns
  • Schedule and perform routine preventive maintenance on all appropriate equipment as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and the Property Manager
  • Diagnose and perform minor or routine maintenance or repair, to include HVAC troubleshooting and pool maintenance, if applicable
  • Remove and transfer appliances and equipment to/from storage area to apartment as circumstances warrant and assist in moving abandoned furniture, appliances, etc. to dumpster
  • Complete all service requests within 24 hours, unless the request requires extraordinary parts or labor
  • Perform on-call emergency service requests when scheduled. When on call, emergency after-hours calls will require an immediate response and arrival at the property no more than an hour after the call is received. On call bonus incentives will be provided
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, prospects, and visitors

May be required to transport appliances, equipment, supplies, tools, and maintenance materials throughout the community and to other designated locations as needed.

Physical Requirements:
  • Requires constant movement including considerable use of arms and legs, movement of the entire body such as climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and handling of materials. Considerable time is spent using hands to handle, operate, activate, inspect, place, detect control or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • May be required to work atop of buildings or on roofs, as needed
  • Must be able to carry, move, transport, position, install, remove, or continuously lift weight up to 75 lbs.
  • Worker must be able to ascend/descend ladders. Worker must be able to meet a ladder duty rating up to Type IAA (Extra Heavy Duty) of 375 lbs. Total weight consideration includes employee weight, weight of clothing and PPE, weight of tools and supplies carried, and the weight of tools and supplies stored on the ladder
