Job summary

BNE Real Estate Group is seeking a Maintenance Associate to support day-to-day building operations at The Piermont in Bergen County, NJ. This role focuses on maintenance tasks, responsive resident services, and teamwork to ensure smooth operation of the community.

Schedule is Monday–Friday 8am–4pm with rotated on-call hours for emergencies. Candidates should have a high school diploma and 1+ year in property management maintenance, plus familiarity with Yardi or similar software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 1+ year in property management maintenance or related field.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Yardi or similar work order software.
• Valid New Jersey driver's license; strong verbal and customer service skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented; able to work with minimal supervision.
• Willing to work overtime and in hot/cold/dusty/loud environments; attend reliably.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned maintenance service requests promptly.
• Perform routine maintenance in elevators, hallways, amenities, etc.
• Maintain inventory lists for cleaning and maintenance supplies.
• Inspect property during walks; notify managers of issues.
• Maintain grounds, amenities, exteriors, leasing office, parking lots, and common areas.
• Prep and paint apartments per turn schedule; make-ready units including cleaning and painting.
• Paint common areas; assist with snow removal and landscaping.
• Replace/repair locks, cylinders, latches, knobs, hinges; adjust doors.
• Replace/repair electrical outlets, switches, lighting fixtures; plumbing parts.
• Install smoke alarms and other fire safety devices; grout wall tiles.
• Clear local waste lines; drain stoppages; clean HVAC filters.
• Report maintenance concerns for repairs; assist preventative maintenance.
• Support management with other projects; maintain excellent customer service.
• Participate in emergency on-call program if required.
