Maintenance Technicians are responsible for maintaining heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation systems in the hospital. This includes operating boilers, air-conditioning equipment, diesel engines, turbines, pumps, condensers, generators, and compressors. The technician will start up, regulate, shut down, or repair this equipment, ensuring all systems operate efficiently and safely. Routine maintenance, minor welding, plumbing, and electrical repairs are also part of the role. Ability to work off hours is required.
High School diploma required; maintenance certification preferred.
Ability to read, write, and follow instructions; math, computer, reasoning, and language skills preferred. Capable of heavy lifting, climbing ladders, and using hand tools. Training in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or related fields is preferred. Must complete CPR certification and an Oceans-approved behavioral health de-escalation program.
Subject to interruptions and occasional pressure from calls and inquiries. The role can be high-paced and stressful; must cope mentally and physically. Approximately 90% or more of the time is spent inside a building protected from weather but not temperature changes.
